The Evens Arts Prize jury selected Femke Herregraven in recognition of her critical investigation into the social and colonial implications of new technologies and their inscription into the workings of global extractivism. The jury acknowledged the artist’s consistent use of highly exploited technology, such as AI, to unsettle established capitalist models, convoking alternative imaginaries and voices for new liberating agency.
