Hoger Wal!

The Hoger Wal! project arose out of the Buurtschatten project. Guido De Roost is a retired shipmaster who wants to dedicate himself voluntary to make sailing trips with young people in a problematic situation. In order to make this idea possible, we brought Guido in contact with a number of organizations which, each from a different angle, work professionally with such youngsters.

Hoger Wal! organizes boat trips lasting at least one week for youngsters who live in difficult circumstances. During these trips on a small sailing boat, they have to work in a responsible and disciplined way. The trip gives them the opportunity to think about their circumstances and their future, free from all day-to-day worries.

The Evens Foundation has supported Hoger Wal! from the beginning and contributed to the purchase of the sailing boat.
